What's New?

FINALLY! Band Van has been written! It's only taken about 7 years!
Click on Stories to read about it. :-)

It's been 7 years since Desi left us. Seven seems like a HUGE number - it doesn't seem like it's been that long, though it has.
If anyone wanders through here and wants to hear any of his music files that are not on the music page, just e-mail me: judolf2005@yahoo.com.
Some titles are: Momma Don't Cry For Me, Majik Carpet Ride, Bottom, Sun Through The Trees, Freedom, The Music, One Way Train.

I also fixed the links on the Music page that weren't working. I'll make a new link to the video of him and Elton one of these days.

I added a favicon to the site - see the little buffalo at the top! :)

Isn't he cute!? Anyway, that is called a "fave-eye-con" - or favicon. Just a cute little touch.

Thanks to Lady Jay for making that for me!

I also had to dump the Memory Book link because some loser wrote some kind of script that overrode it and led to some porn stuff. So when I get a chance I'll set up a Voy board. Sorry, folks. Anyway, I'll try to keep things updated a little more often.

Lots of activity on the web site this past while!

On January 2, 2003, Grandma Lee passed away in Regina. I have added a tribute page to her HERE.

In 1996 Desi was on the road selling shrimp and he went to Saskatchewan somewhere around March or April and stayed at Grandma's house for a couple of days. Upon his return he had many Molly stories to relate that were very hilarious and very Molly-like! He thought she was hilarious and loved her spirit. I know the feeling was mutual. I hope they are sharing many laughs together now.

This past Christmas (2003) Tamara, with the help of super audio dude and pal Greg White, went through hours of Desi's audio tapes and compiled a 23 song CD to surprise us! It's fabulous! Click on the MUSIC page link above to see the artwork. That was a super gift - thanks Tamara and thanks Greg for all your help and expertise under Tam's time constraints! *G* From time to time I'll upload a new song. I just have some work to do, like get the lyrics straight and explain a bit about the songs. One of these days. :-)

On December 18th, 2003, Tamara had a special surprise for us. She invited us over, along with Neil, Jason, Melina, Nicky and Chris, and we had dinner. Then at 9 o'clock she turned up the radio and the surprise was that she had arranged through her friend Irene, who works at CiTR/UBC Radio, to play a couple of Desi's songs on "Live from ... Thunderbird Hell". The DJ played "I'd Still Give It To You" and "I Was Free". It was so exciting to hear him on the radio and know that other people were hearing him also! I'll be getting that uploaded soon to the music page.

Desi also got airplay last night on UBC Radio once again - they played "I'd Still Give It To You" again, arranged by Jason, who is also a student at UBC. It's great to hear Desi on the radio! Thanks for arranging that, Jason!

More as it happens. :-)

Well, it has been four years since Desi has been gone. What can I say!?

There is a Buddhist temple here in Richmond and just about every day we drive past it. There is a sign out front that says it's open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and visitors are welcome. So, I thought it would be a nice place to go and remember Desi today, since he was cremated in a Buddhist temple in Bangkok. Click HERE for the photos - they are just in a directory at the moment, but when I have time one day I'll put them on a proper web page. Hope you enjoy them. :-)

It was a grey, rainy day but it was a peaceful visit. The inside of the temple is beautiful, but they don't allow photos. We burned incense in memory of Desi, Grandme Lee, Grandma Rousselle, and Jason's Grandmother.

After the temple we went to Canadian Blood Services and Tamara donated blood in honour of Desi, then we went to Starbucks, and then we had dinner at Sawasdee Thai restaurant in Vancouver.

We now have a new guest book. Check it out. It's actually a message board, but since it's much easier to set up and so on, I decided to go with a message board.

Thanks.

Thanks for visiting.
